RF solutions
IoT solutions engineered for demanding environments
Real-world sensing, RF coverage, gateway hardware and data integration designed around operational problems that cannot tolerate blind spots.
IoT Technologies is a UK engineering company that designs, manufactures and operates wireless monitoring solutions for equipment, buildings and infrastructure. Each solution pairs battery-powered sensor tags with resilient radio coverage and a live dashboard, so that events which would otherwise pass unnoticed — a leak in an unvisited plant room, a pressure drop on an isolated line, a temperature excursion in storage — are reported the moment they happen.
The solutions below are grouped by the problem they solve rather than the sensor they use. Most deployments are retrofit: the tags attach to existing equipment and existing sites, with no rewiring, and no power or network needed at the point of measurement — the only powered element is the gateway, which runs from a 5 V supply via mains, a DC feed, or solar. Every solution reports into the same platform, so an estate can start with one problem and extend to others without changing systems. The hardware behind all of them is our own UK-designed range, covered on the products page.

Real-Time Pressure Monitoring
Wireless retrofit pressure monitoring across vessels, lines and cylinders, with instant rise-and-drop alerts across the estate.
Real-Time Tank Level Monitoring
Wireless retrofit level monitoring for water and oil tanks, with instant low, high and rapid-loss alerts across the estate.
Environmental Monitoring
Environmental monitoring systems for temperature, humidity, air quality and pressure, with remote alarms when conditions move outside set thresholds.
Cold Storage Monitoring
Continuous temperature and door monitoring for cold rooms, freezers and chilled cabinets — an alarm the moment a reading drifts out of band.
Real-Time Sound Monitoring
Wireless sound-level monitoring with instant threshold alerts — boundary, plant and site noise on one dashboard. Levels, not audio.
Commercial Kitchen Emissions Monitoring
Real-time grease and particulate monitoring across commercial kitchen extract, with filter alerts and a logged trend across every site.
Thermal Detection & Heat Risk
Thermal detection and heat-risk monitoring for plant rooms, cupboards, comms rooms and distributed estates.
Fire Suppression Monitoring
Discharge alerts, live cylinder pressure and fault states from tags retrofitted to suppression systems, fixed and mobile.
Perimeter & Site Security
Real-time perimeter security with fence breach detection, PIR, piezoelectric sensing, 433 MHz telemetry and evidence-ready alerts.
Perimeter Intrusion Detection
Wireless perimeter intrusion detection for rural estates and farms — fence, gate and PIR alerts from unpowered boundaries, with optional drone verification.
Void Property Monitoring
Leak, presence, door and temperature alerts from empty buildings — continuous evidence between inspections, fitted for the life of the void and recovered at re-let.
Mast & Tower Monitoring
Sway, vibration, wind and weather monitoring for masts and towers, with instant alerts and a condition record for maintenance and insurance.
Estate Operations Monitoring
Estate operations monitoring with live site visibility, actionable alerts, contractor handover and evidence-ready reporting.
AMR Water & Gas Metering
AMR metering for hard-to-reach water and gas meters, retrofit interfaces, 433 MHz or Wireless M-Bus telemetry and dependable read delivery.
IoT Remote Monitoring
Remote monitoring for unattended equipment and distributed assets, turning silent events into real-time alerts, escalation and evidence-ready event histories.
Retrofit Remote Monitoring
Real-time alerting from the fault and status signals existing equipment already produces — dry contacts, gauges and state outputs, no rewiring.
Predictive Maintenance
Predictive maintenance using IoT telemetry, trend drift, anomaly patterns and evidence trails to prioritise intervention before failure escalates.
Remote Monitoring for OEMs
Add remote monitoring to the equipment you sell — dry contacts, gauges and state outputs to a dashboard under your brand.
Frequently asked questions
What is IoT monitoring?
IoT monitoring uses small wireless sensors to report the live condition of equipment, buildings or infrastructure to a central dashboard. Instead of relying on periodic inspection, the site reports its own state continuously — temperature, pressure, water presence, movement, door state and similar readings — and raises an alert the moment a value moves outside its set thresholds.
Do I need mains power or a site network to use these solutions?
The sensor tags need neither: they are battery-powered with a multi-year field life and report over long-range licence-free radio, independent of site Wi-Fi and wired networks. The one powered element is the gateway, which runs from a low-voltage 5 V supply — a standard mains plug, a DC rack feed, or solar where no supply exists. One gateway serves many tags, so power is needed at a single point, not at every point of measurement.
Can the solutions be fitted to existing equipment?
Yes. Most deployments are retrofit. Tags attach to the equipment already in place — tanks, meters, valves, vessels, cabinets, suppression systems — and many analogue devices can be brought onto the dashboard through a simple dry-contact connection, so equipment that currently only indicates locally becomes remotely visible.
Which solution do I need?
Start from the problem, not the sensor. If water damage is the risk, start with leak detection; if an unattended reading matters, start with pressure, level or environmental monitoring; if the estate itself is the concern, start with cabinet and site monitoring. Each solution page describes the operational problem it solves, and most estates combine several on one platform.
Does monitoring replace fire alarms or safety systems?
No. Where a solution touches fire, gas or life safety, it operates strictly as a complementary layer on a best-endeavours basis — adding remote visibility of what certified systems are doing, never replacing the certified systems themselves or any statutory inspection regime.
How quickly do alerts arrive?
Readings and events report in real time to the dashboard, with alerts raised by email or SMS as soon as a threshold is crossed. The engineering focus is delivery assurance: the radio layer is designed so readings arrive reliably from hard positions — deep plant rooms, metal enclosures, below-ground chambers — rather than assuming clean conditions.
