IoT Technologies

Engineering-led. Designed, built and manufactured in the UK.

IoT Technologies designs, deploys and operates bespoke systems across the whole spectrum of IoT, led by engineers with decades of experience who thrive on a challenge. Our hardware is manufactured to order in England, and we work with clients of every size, from SME to Enterprise.

What we deliver

Full-stack IoT.

Full-stack means the whole system is ours. We design the hardware, write the firmware, build the radio protocol and run the platform the data lands on. Nothing is licensed in, rebadged or assembled from someone else's parts, which is why the systems can be shaped precisely to the problem in front of them.

Coverage with overlap

Redundant cells and instant failover keep sites online through faults, maintenance and weather.

Low-power economics

Sub-GHz radio and smart edge handling bring the cost per signal down dramatically.

Any sensor, any application

Open onboarding, clean APIs and a clear path from pilots to estate-wide rollouts.

UK-resident data

Collection, transit, processing and storage remain inside the UK for control and compliance.

Local AI at the edge

Anomaly detection and incident handling close to the source for faster action and lower bandwidth.

The team

Built by engineers.

Not salespeople.

The team behind IoT Technologies has spent years building hardware, firmware and network infrastructure from scratch. We hold extensive intellectual property developed entirely in-house — not licensed, not repackaged from third parties.

We are passionate about solving problems others can't solve, and delivering cost-effective systems that work in the real world under real constraints: RF performance, power, enclosure, compliance, manufacturing, deployment and clean data integration.

Our mission is straightforward: change the way the UK moves low-power field data — reliably, securely, and at a fraction of the cost of legacy approaches.

IoT Technologies was founded and is led by Jonathan Olliff-Cooper, an entrepreneur with more than 27 years in technology, networks and the Internet of Things. He began his career at Lucent Technologies (Bell Labs) working on voice and data networks, and has since founded, built and sold several technology businesses. He specialises in IoT and power and data networks, with a long record of solving complex monitoring and connectivity problems.

Manufacturing

Proudly made in Great Britain.

Every product we sell is designed in-house and manufactured in England. Our partner factory in Bournemouth carries out the full build on one site: PCB assembly from sourced components, product build, firmware loading and functional test. Units are manufactured to order rather than pulled from imported stock, and every unit deployed across the UK came out of that factory.

Manufacturing in Britain is a deliberate choice. It keeps design and manufacture within walking distance of each other, so revisions move fast and quality problems get caught by the people who designed the board. It shortens the supply chain, and it means the answer to where our equipment comes from is a short one.

How we work

Principles we don't compromise on.

These are working rules rather than slogans; each one has a cost, and we pay it.

Dependability over hype

We prove reliability with visible telemetry and clear outcomes, not marketing claims.

Open where it helps

Clean interfaces, documented patterns, no lock-in.

Continuous hardening

Every deployment feeds improvements back into firmware, gateways and runbooks.

Customer control

UK-resident processing and storage, with full audit across the data path.

Own the fix

When something fails, we resolve it and make it harder to fail again.

Where we focus

Twelve sectors. One specialism.

Our specialism is critical national infrastructure: estates where the monitoring system's own security is a procurement question and failure is not an option. The same engineering serves every sector we work in — if the approach stands up on CNI estates, it stands up anywhere.

01

Estates, Buildings & Facilities

Environmental, condition and energy telemetry across buildings and estates — one monitored picture, with alerts where they matter.

02

Utilities, Energy & Data Centres

Leak, vibration, temperature and condition telemetry on critical plant — edge alerts and maintenance workflows that catch faults before they escalate.

03

Telecoms & Infrastructure

Site integrity, environmental sensing and structural-movement telemetry across towers and compounds — visibility on remote sites without the truck roll.

04

Transport & Logistics

In-transit telemetry on assets and goods — temperature, humidity, motion and impact monitoring, with tamper and droppage alerts.

05

Industrial, Construction & Secure Sites

Condition, environmental and tamper telemetry for plant, sites and secure facilities — including real-time wind and movement sensing for cranes and temporary works.

The full list, with what monitoring looks like in each, is on our industries pages.
